The Mixha Family
It all began in the small country of Albania, with two teens in neighboring villages, both working on farms. From there, they moved to the US with $100 in their pocket and a vision of the American Dream. From bussing tables and being a line cook for over a decade to jumping into ownership in 2005, the restaurant industry runs in the Mixha Family blood.
Today, Fairview Farmers is a family-owned, family-operated, and locally-owned restaurant. We’re proud to be the only Fairview restaurant owned by Fairview residents.
Our Restaurants
Today, the Mixha family owns Fairview Farmers in Fairview, TX, as well as Jessica’s Restaurant, a modern twist on the classic American diner, in their hometown of Roscoe, IL. Jessica’s has been open since 1986, and has been in the extended family since its founding. The Mixha’s came under direct ownership of it in 2011. One of the Mixha’s first jobs in America was as a busboy at Jessica’s - a full-circle moment.
Why Fairview Farmers?
The first reasoning for our name is The Mixha Family’s background growing up on a farm. The second reason is our goal to provide the highest quality food, sourced to the extent possible from either organic or local farms, to our patrons.
As many locals remember, our building used to be dive bar after dive bar, until eventually the last one closed due to COVID. After that, we took the space over, and were shocked to find mold in the walls, rusting appliances and walk-ins, and so much more. We knew nothing was salvageable, and completely gutted the restaurant, leaving only the wood frame. From there, it took us 10 months to create the earthy, modern, and welcoming atmosphere that constitutes Fairview Farmers today.
